There are many people across the globe who do not have a strong astrological chart and there are times, when inspite of the best efforts, they have a struggling life and cannot perform. For these natives, inner frustrations and depressions becomes a daily routine. Amongst various parameters, in vedic astrology debilitation of planets do help us to understand about a planet’s ability to perform with its full strength or its inability to provide the desired results.

Debilitation is a state, where the astrological planet has no power to perform. In general there are various astrological houses, where planets gets debilitated. For example, Sun gets debilitated at Libra, Venus gets debilitated at Virgo, Saturn gets debilitated at Aries, Mars gets debilitated at Cancer, Moon gets debilitated at Scorpio, Mercury gets debilitated at Pisces and Jupiter gets debilitated at Capricorn. Regarding Rahu and Ketu planet debilitation there are many theories. One among them states that Rahu gets debilitated at Scorpio and Ketu gets debilitated at Taurus.

But do that mean that all debilitations are bad or does a debilitation can be cancelled? There are many theories regarding the same, but often you may find that an astrological planet get debilitated in the Ascendant or Lagna Chart but the same is Exalted or placed in a friendly house in the D9 chart. That has a different meaning.

In this article let us discuss about Sun and its debilitation in the D9 (Navamsha Chart) or the D1 (Ascendant or Lagna Chart). So, what happens when Sun gets debilitated in the D1 Chart and is not debilitated in the D9 Chart. Sun is the basic force of life. All planets in the solar system and in the milky way gets their energy from the Sun. The Sun is the brightest star in the solar system which provides light to the entire universe and through which we see the planet moon shinning in the sky. If there is no Sun in the milky way galaxy, we will not have life at all.

The planet Sun was always worshipped across centuries in different names like Apollo, Atum, Horus, Helios, Surya Dev etc. Worship to the Sun God have been practised for centuries and it is no wonder that when this planet in one’s horoscope is debilitated, the basic energy to move forward or come up in life is lost. Most of the times, it is seen that these native’s house has the Eastern and North Eastern side completely blocked or it is not open for Sun rays to come through. These people struggle a lot and works very hard only to find their names not featuring amongst the most hard-working people. Success generally comes to these people after lots of efforts. However, debilitation of Sun in D1 Chart and Sun not debilitated in the D9 chart will affect the native less. Sun placed with Rahu in D1 chart and is well placed in D9 Chart also gives success to the native after middle age.

Lord Sun, if placed in Libra in D1 chart and that also within 10 degrees and is debilitated and Lord Sun is sitting in other signs except Libra in D9 Vedic Chart, will still have strength to bestow the native with good things in life. Now let us take a situation where Sun is in power in the D1 chart but is debilitated in the D9 chart and in this type of situations, it is observed that Sun is not able to perform properly and native gets material gains after immense struggle. Also it is often seen that the Northern side and north eastern side of the house is blocked generally, if not the native is staying with someone in the family, who have a strong Sun in one’s vedic horoscope.

Placement of Sun in the horoscope is very important as it’s that astrological house which lights up the other houses in a vedic horoscope chart and it’s through this house the native gets immense strength. Sun placement and its analysis is very important for horoscope analysis. Lord Sun is the giver of strength, confidence, will power, ability to cope up with any situations. Debilitation of Sun Lord with Venus debilitated in Virgo in D9 Chart, means that the native will have issues with one’s father. By issues, I mean that father will over-power the native. Hence the natural qualities of the native will not shine due to lack of rays of Sun in the horoscope and less creative strength. With Venus debilitated, the native will also have failed relationships initially. So, no matter how much creative the native may be, the native will have to struggle more, work more, pain more to get recognition. A debilitated Sun in the horoscope do not mean that all doors are closed but that also mean that the native needs more of Sun Shine in one’s life.

However, there are yogas in which debilitation of Sun gets cancelled and one interesting finding is that if Exalted Saturn and Debilitated Sun are together, then the debilitation of Lord Sun gets cancelled. There are different ways to strengthen one’s Sun and one of the simple ways to strengthen Lord Sun according to me is Pouring Water in a Copper Vessel infront of Lord Sun before 8 am in the morning.
